Honda came up with this excellent idea to revive the sonic spirit of Ayrton Senna’s fastest lap time back then in Suzuka Circuit in 1989. While he is no longer with us, the boffins at Honda paid tribute to him by using recorded data from his 1989 McLaren MP4/5.
Speakers and lights were lined up on the circuit to mimic the car position as if Senna is right there driving his machine, 24 years after his tragic accident.
It’s truly a genius idea, and it’s executed brilliantly here. There’s also a “behind the scenes” video that goes with it.
